The Yale Environment 360 Film Contest is back for its eleventh year, inviting filmmakers from across the globe to showcase their environmental documentaries. This prestigious competition seeks to bring attention to exceptional and underexposed environmental films, offering a platform for these important stories to reach a broader audience.

Heading the panel of judges for this year’s contest are notable figures including Roger Cohn, the executive editor of Yale Environment 360; Elizabeth Kolbert, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and contributor to e360; and Thomas Lennon, an acclaimed Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker. Their expertise and passion for environmental storytelling will guide the selection of this year’s winners.

Rewards for Excellence

  • The top prize winner will be awarded $3,000, with the second and third place receiving $2,000 and $1,000, respectively.
  • Additionally, the winning films will be featured on the Yale Environment 360 website, offering further exposure.

Participation Criteria

  • Entries should address environmental topics and not exceed 20 minutes.
  • Films produced under the auspices of a corporation or organization, with a primary focus on said entity, will not qualify.

  • All entries must be submitted by May 20, 2024.
