The World Federation of Neurology (WFN) and the Association of British Neurologists (ABN) have teamed up with the Department of Neurology at Cairo University to offer an incredible scholarship opportunity for one newly-trained African Neurologist. The one-year general neurology fellowship is designed to enhance neurological training within the African continent, enabling the successful applicant to meet new colleagues and foster future cooperation. The training will be conducted in English.
The WFN Visiting Fellow Program offers a fully-funded scholarship, including reimbursement for one economy flight from the Fellow’s country of residence to Cairo and a return journey, accommodation for the academic year, and a monthly allowance for living expenses (food and beverage) during the academic year. Health insurance and insurance to practice medicine during the stay in Cairo will also be provided and arranged by the hosts. The scholarship amount will be paid to the University of Cairo, which will reimburse the fellow’s expenses.
To qualify, the applicant must be a resident of a low or lower-middle-income country from the Sub-Saharan African continent and must have completed his/her neurology training recently. The applicant must also be born after December 31, 1981, and be fluent in English.
The selection process for this fellowship will take place for one academic year, from September 2024 to August 2025. The deadline for applications is February 29, 2024.
