WIPO Global Awards For Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) 2024

The WIPO Global Awards is an annual contest that celebrates exceptional enterprises and individuals who have made smart use of intellectual property for commercialization and have also brought a positive contribution to society through their innovation and creativity. The contest is open to applicants from WIPO’s 193 Member States and diverse economic sectors. Originally inclusive of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the contest has introduced a new category for startups in 2024, with plans to incorporate additional categories in upcoming editions of the program.

By participating in this contest, finalists and winners receive international promotion, recognition, and visibility through various platforms. Winners are also invited to attend the awards ceremony and other networking events in Geneva, Switzerland, with travel expenses covered. In addition, winners are provided with a personalized mentorship program to help them further develop their businesses.

To qualify for the awards program, SMEs must be located in at least one of WIPO’s 193 Member States and meet the following conditions: it must be a registered business entity with proof of registration, have no more than 300 employees and up to 15 US$ millions of total annual sales, be a holder of at least one registered IP right, and be exporting its products or services to at least one country.

The application deadline for the WIPO Global Awards is March 31, 2024. Interested and qualified SMEs can apply at global-awards.wipo.int.
