The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) Scholarship Program is an amazing opportunity for international students to study at one of China’s most prestigious universities. Benefits of the USTC Scholarship Program:
The USTC Scholarship Program has two levels of funding. Level A, funded by USTC, includes a tuition waiver, comprehensive medical insurance, a monthly stipend of 2,500 RMB, and an accommodation subsidy. On the other hand, Level B, funded by USTC, includes tuition waivers only.
Requirements for the USTC Scholarship Program:
To be eligible for the USTC Scholarship Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport, in good physical and mental health
- Having passed new HSK Level 5 or above
- Emigrants from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan applying as international students must obtain their current foreign citizenship before April 30th, 2020
- Applicants must hold a high school diploma (equivalent to a high school diploma in China) by July of 2024.
- Applicants must be under the age of 30 by September 1st, 2024.
Application Documents:
Applicants must submit the following documents:
- Application Form for International Students (Undergraduate Program)
- Photocopy of passport (including pages with Chinese visa or residence permit, if applicable)
- Notarized photocopies of senior high school graduation certificate and transcripts
- Photocopies of Certificate of new HSK Level 5 and transcripts
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form
- Recommendation letter from senior high school
- Applicants under 18 by Sept. 1st, 2024 should submit a Guardian Statement
- Emigrants from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan applying as international students should submit additional documents
Application Deadline:
The application deadline for the USTC Scholarship Program is March 31, 2024.
How to Apply:
Applicants must create an account in the USTC Application System and select the fellowship they want to apply for. Each applicant can only be supported by one scholarship, and USTC will decide which level of the fellowship may be given based on the comprehensive evaluation of the applicant.
