Introducing the High Potential Scholarship Program at the University of Michigan, which offers 150 partial scholarships of $35,000 each academic year to highly talented students from outside the United States who have been accepted into an Undergraduate, Master’s, or PhD program at the university. This scholarship initiative includes the High Potential Scholarship funded by the University Scholarship Fund and the Albright Scholarship supported by the Vanderbilt Institute and J. Morgan Grant. It is designed for international students seeking to pursue a full degree program at the university.
The benefits of the University of Michigan High Potential Scholarship Program include financial support covering living expenses, health and liability insurance, visa application costs, tuition fees, pre-academic training expenses, and participation in the International Student Ambassador Program (ISAP). The living expenses stipend of $25,000 for the 2024-2025 academic year is disbursed to students by the UM International Services Desk. Please note that accommodation provided by the university costs approximately $450 per month, and any alternative housing choices may impact the monthly allowance.
To be eligible for the scholarship, candidates must meet specific criteria such as holding nationality outside the United States, EU/EEA, Switzerland, or Surinam, applying for a full-time program at the university for the upcoming academic year, demonstrating academic excellence, and fulfilling other outlined requirements. The selection process is highly competitive, with only 30% of applicants being awarded the scholarship. If you are interested and meet the qualifications, you can apply through the University of Michigan website before the March 20, 2024 deadline.
