2024 Theme: Envisioning the Future through Legacy
The theme for the 2024 competition invites young visionaries to ponder over the significant evolution of the world since the UPU’s establishment 150 years ago. Participants are encouraged to write letters to future generations, sharing their hopes and dreams for the world they wish to pass on, under the theme: “At 150 years old, the UPU has served people around the world for more than eight generations. The world has changed enormously since then. Write a letter to future generations about the world you hope they inherit.”
Competition Highlights
- Awards & Recognition: Winners will be celebrated with medals (gold, silver, or bronze) and certificates for honourable mentions. The gold medalist will be awarded a trip to the UPU headquarters in Berne, Switzerland, for a special awards ceremony, with all expenses covered for both the winner and an accompanying adult. Runners-up and national winners will be recognized on World Post Day, celebrating the UPU’s anniversary.
- Eligibility: The competition is open to youths aged 9 to 15, fostering a diverse pool of ideas and perspectives.
