UN SDSN Climate Actors Accelerator Programme for Nigerian Youths 2024

The United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network Nigeria (UN SDSN Nigeria) recognizes the significant threat that climate change poses to our planet. The triple planetary emergency, consisting of rising global temperatures, habitat loss leading to the extinction of species, and ongoing pollution of air, land, and water, has made it imperative for us to take action. The Climate Actors Accelerator Programme (CAAP) is a unique initiative designed for young innovators and change-makers between the ages of 18 and 35, who are passionate about proffering solutions to the global climate crisis. The aim is to create a liveable environment towards a net-zero future. This knowledge-sharing and innovation programme offers a comprehensive approach to creating a sustainable future through advanced training, boot camps, environmental campaigns, clean-up efforts, tree-planting activities, ecological tours and innovative thinking.

The UN SDSN Climate Actors Accelerator Program provides numerous benefits for participants. These include access to funding opportunities, one-on-one mentorship, networking, leadership and career development, ecological tours and trips, access to international training and workshops, and certification. Participants will also gain the skills and knowledge necessary to become successful development and transformation agents in their communities.

To participate in the program, interested applicants must meet certain requirements. Applicants must be Nigerian and between the ages of 18 – 35 years. They must also be able to commit at least 4 hours per week throughout the programme, participate in Masterclass sessions, Climate Education, and Community Development Projects, and be interested in being a development and transformation agent.
