Exciting News! Get ready for an incredible opportunity as the SDG Lab, in collaboration with Rethinking Economics, is set to launch an essay competition for the youth to voice their thoughts on moving beyond GDP. The initiative kicks off at a webinar on 19 February, leading up to a significant meeting on 17 April. Participants are encouraged to ponder on the question: What values and principles should shape a Framework to Value What Counts beyond GDP, and what challenges need urgent attention?
Here’s what you need to know:
The competition offers a chance for young minds under 30 to showcase their perspective in 700-1000 words. The top ten essays will be featured in a compilation published by SDG Lab and Rethinking Economics. Moreover, the authors of the five best essays will receive up to €1,300 to cover travel and accommodation expenses for the 17 April event. Please note that visa assistance is not provided, but invitation letters from UNCTAD can be arranged for eligible participants.
