Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Scholarships for International Students 2024-2025

Are you an international student looking to pursue a Masters or PhD degree in Germany? The Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung Scholarship Department is awarding scholarships to highly qualified individuals who demonstrate a high level of social and political engagement. The scholarship is open to all fields of study, except for Medicine, Dentistry, and Veterinary Medicine.

This scholarship is for international students from all over the world, with preference given to women, students of non-academic and migrant backgrounds, the socially needy, and people with disabilities. The scholarship provides a living grant for the duration of the standard study program period but does not cover tuition fees for international students.

In addition to the financial support, the Scholarship Department offers political education events, summer schools, workshops, symposia, and educational trips. They also provide practical training in fields such as rhetoric, conflict management, time management, self-management, text and writing workshops, and specific seminars on methodology.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must have German language proficiency at B2 level or above, be enrolled at a state or state-recognized German university for MA students, or be accepted at a German university for PhD students.

The application for scholarships is done online, and the deadline is 1 October for grants beginning in the summer semester of the following year (1 April) or 1 April for grants beginning in the winter semester of the same year (1 October).
