Carleton University in Canada is calling for applications from international students from African countries for the Richard J. Van Loon Scholarship for the forthcoming academic session. The scholarship, in honour of Carleton’s 10th President, is valued at $5,000 for the 2023-2024 academic year.

The Richard J. Van Loon Scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding international student from an African country. The scholarship was established in 2005 by friends, family and colleagues in honour of Richard J. Van Loon. It is aimed at assisting academically excellent African students to study in Canada and build their capacity to contribute to the development of their home countries.

To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be a citizen of an African country, registered as a full-time student at Carleton University, be proceeding from one year to another in any program of study, and must be in good academic standing. In addition, international students who are required to have a valid Study Permit for Canada are also eligible to apply.

Interested and eligible candidates should apply through the scholarship application portal, which can be accessed by clicking the link provided. The application deadline is February 01, 2024.
