Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships 2024 - Masters Students In Commonwealth Countries

The Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS) offer an incredible opportunity to pursue a two-year Master’s degree in a low or middle-income Commonwealth country. The scholarships are intended for students who are committed to making a positive impact in their communities. It is a life-changing opportunity to experience a new culture, broaden your horizons, and build a global network that will last a lifetime.

Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholars help bring about positive change through cultural exchange and academic collaboration. They find solutions to shared challenges both in their home countries and the countries where they study. As active members of the Commonwealth network, scholars will help shape its future.

There are two opportunities each year to apply for QECS. Cycle 1 opens in November/December and Cycle 2 opens in March/April. You can apply for both cycles if you are interested in studying in more than one country.

The ACU Masters Scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship that covers tuition fees, living allowance, return economy flights to the host country, one-off arrival allowance, and a research support grant (on request only; subject to approval). To be eligible, you must be a citizen (or hold refugee status) in a Commonwealth country and apply for a QECS award in a country other than your home country/ country of citizenship. There is no upper age limit, but you must have attained a minimum of 2:1 (or equivalent) at the undergraduate level to apply.

The selection committee assesses applications based on academic history/references, plan of study, development impact and post-study outreach, and creating networks. To be considered for selection, you need to ensure that your statement is written clearly, and you have outlined why you are applying to the courses and institutions listed on your application form. You must also tailor your answers to each institution. Finally, you must meet all the eligibility requirements for your chosen university course, including having the necessary work experience.

The application deadline is January 10, 2024. Interested and qualified candidates can visit the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) website for more details and to apply.
