These awards celebrate the best media coverage of underreported stories from low- and middle-income countries across Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America, the Middle East, Russia, and the post-Soviet States. Entries that break through stereotypes, change the narrative, and connect people across cultures are highly encouraged.

Each year, a panel of distinguished professionals from the media and non-profit sectors judge hundreds of entries from around the world. With 32 years of history, the One World Media Awards are the only awards recognising excellence in international journalism and filmmaking specifically from and about the global south.

The awards celebrate work across 15 categories and a wide range of media platforms, providing a unique opportunity to be recognised by some of the industry’s top professionals and to gain a wider audience for your work. All entries must have had their first screening, broadcast, theatrical release, launch, or publication between February 9, 2023, and February 8, 2024.
