Nigeria Energy Forum (NEF) 2024 Tertiary Institutions Student Energy Pitch Contest

The Tertiary Institutions Energy Pitch Challenge (TIEC) 2024 is set to ignite the spark of clean energy innovation within Nigeria’s higher education landscape. This pioneering initiative, a collaborative effort between the Nigeria Energy Forum (NEF) and All On, an impact-driven investment firm, seeks to harness the creative potential of students across Nigerian tertiary institutions. By focusing on the development and promotion of student-led clean energy solutions, TIEC aims to foster awareness and drive investments in sustainable energy ventures.

In its upcoming edition, TIEC2024 invites student teams to showcase their groundbreaking energy solutions, with an emphasis on key areas such as Agribusiness, Healthcare, Local Manufacturing, and Cleaner Production. The challenge will culminate at the 9th Nigeria Energy Forum, held at the prestigious Marcellina Centre adjacent to the Radisson Hotel in Ikeja GRA, Lagos. Here, shortlisted teams will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas either in person or via a hybrid format. Outstanding teams will be rewarded handsomely, with over 3 million Naira in grants available to help bring their innovative projects to life.

Participation in the TIEC offers numerous benefits, including substantial financial grants for the top teams to further develop or scale their projects. Additionally, selected teams—emphasizing gender balance—will enjoy complimentary registration, accommodation, and travel support for the NEF2024 event. This not only provides a platform for showcasing their innovations but also offers invaluable opportunities for technical training, networking, and capacity building. The contest is open exclusively to students of tertiary institutions in Nigeria, encouraging cross-disciplinary collaboration and faculty mentorship to foster a holistic approach to innovation. With critical dates and a structured selection process outlined, teams are encouraged to apply by May 7, 2024, for a chance to transform their clean energy ideas into reality. For application details and more information, visit the NEF website or directly apply via the provided Google Docs link.
