Introducing the MTN Y’ellopreneur Initiative, a groundbreaking program dedicated to reducing women’s unemployment and fostering women’s development in entrepreneurship. Through a focus on capacity building and providing access to capital in the form of loans, grants, and advisory support services, this initiative aims to ensure the long-term sustainability of women-led businesses.
Launched by the MTN Nigeria Foundation, the pilot phase of the Y’ellopreneur Initiative in 2022 saw 4,711 female entrepreneurs equipped with essential business management and development skills. This training positioned them to compete for equipment loans/grants of up to N2 million each, enabling them to scale their ventures. An impressive total of over N94 million in equipment loans was disbursed to 50 deserving female entrepreneurs, with the added benefit of 25% of the loan value being granted upon full repayment.
For those interested in seizing this remarkable opportunity, the application process involves stages such as entrepreneurial skills training for 1000 female entrepreneurs, the development and presentation of bankable business plans, equipment loan support of up to 3 million naira for 250 female entrepreneurs, business advisory services, and streamlined loan repayment processes.
