MS International Federation McDonald Fellowships fund Program

The McDonald Fellowships are currently accepting applications, providing a fantastic opportunity for early career researchers in the field of multiple sclerosis from low- and middle-income countries. This fellowship allows participants to work in a research institution outside of their own country, either gaining expertise or collaborating on joint research projects. The fellowship includes a two-year grant of around £30,000 per year to cover travel and living expenses, along with an additional contribution of £2,000 per year to the host institution. Part of the second-year grant is expected to cover expenses for the candidate to attend the annual ECTRIMS congress.

This prestigious scholarship is sponsored by the MS International Federation, with the host institution also being the MS International Federation. The scholarship offers a full tuition fee waiver for postgraduate studies (MSc, preferably PhD/MD) and is open to international students. To be eligible for the McDonald Fellowships, applicants must have a postgraduate level education in a relevant area to multiple sclerosis, be citizens of low- or middle-income countries as defined by the World Bank, and focus their research on multiple sclerosis. Candidates must also meet specific working or studying criteria in low- or middle-income countries to qualify for this opportunity. The application deadline for the McDonald Fellowships is June 30, 2024, and applicants can find further details on the official website.
