The Mixed Migration Centre (MMC) proudly presents an unparalleled opportunity for young scholars and writers passionate about the multifaceted world of migration. As the creators of the Mixed Migration Review (MMR), our annual cornerstone publication, we are committed to enriching the dialogue on migration by incorporating diverse viewpoints. With this mission in mind, we are excited to announce a call for entries to our essay competition, exclusively open to aspiring researchers and writers from Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

This unique contest aims to spotlight “Alternative Perspectives” in the MMR2024, by rewarding five exceptional essays with publication in this special section and a monetary prize of USD 1,000 each. We seek thought-provoking contributions that delve into the complex interplay of migration in politics, the narratives shaping public perceptions, and your insights on migration dynamics from the standpoint of your country. Whether it’s reflecting on the policies of common destination countries, analyzing the societal reception of migrants, or examining shifts in political landscapes, your essay should offer a fresh perspective grounded in your lived experiences and observations.
