JOB DESCRIPTION
Pathways to Independence is currently seeking Part-Time Casual Counsellors to provide case management and assisted living support for adults with acquired brain injury in Renfrew. Our organization offers a competitive full compensation package that includes benefit and pension packages, as well as an hourly rate of $29 (including negotiated rate and permanent compensation enhancement).
As a Casual Counsellor, ABI, you will work under the direction of the Client Services Manager to plan and facilitate the implementation of flexible and responsive support to adults living with a brain injury through their Quality of Life plan (QLP). You will work in collaboration with the person’s support team to guide and coach the supported person to build personal and community living skills based on their unique interests, plans, abilities, rights, and goals.
To qualify for this position, you must have a post-secondary diploma or degree from a human services field and specialized education in brain injury, disability studies, cognitive rehabilitation, behaviour management, social work, or psychology; a valid G class driver’s license; and proof of full COVID vaccination. Ideal candidates will also have experience and abilities aligned with the key responsibilities for these positions, which include being computer literate with proficiency in electronic mail and other computer-based tools, as well as experience working with adults with a brain injury in a community-based, group living, or independent living environment.
Successful candidates must be available to work a minimum of four shifts in every two-week pay period. Shifts range from 4-12 hours and include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
