Isaac Olaolu Akinyele Memorial Scholarship for Nigerian Students 2024

We are excited to announce the establishment of the Isaac Olaolu Akinyele Scholarship Program, dedicated to supporting indigent students in public universities in Nigeria pursuing studies in Nutrition or Agriculture. Named in honour of Prof. I.O. Akinyele, a first-generation university graduate and a staunch advocate for education, this scholarship aims to continue his legacy of empowering aspiring scholars. Nutrition and Agriculture are integral components of sustainable development, and this scholarship recognizes their interconnectedness in shaping our food systems.

In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of Prof. Akinyele’s passing, we will be awarding scholarships to 10 outstanding scholars who demonstrate both merit and financial need. Applicants must be Nigerian citizens enrolled in federal or state-owned universities, studying either Nutrition or Agriculture and currently in their second or third year of undergraduate study with a minimum CGPA of 3.5. Successful applicants will not only receive financial support but will also have the opportunity to participate in a free nutrition leadership course to enhance their knowledge and skills in the field.

To apply, interested candidates are required to submit a complete application package, including essays addressing their qualifications, insights from the nutrition leadership course, and future visions for transforming food systems. The application deadline is February 20, 2024.
