The program structure involves IFC recruiting Global Interns for at least four weeks between May and September to engage in specific projects in Washington, D.C., or at one of IFC’s country or regional offices. Many opportunities are also available for virtual participation. Interns are exposed to a range of operational assignments covering activities like sector-specific market analysis, investment proposal assessments, financial modelling, portfolio management, and advisory services. Furthermore, Global Interns receive corporate orientation, skills training, and access to various learning events tailored for the GIP cohort.

Successful interns are encouraged to consider applying for the WBG Young Professionals Program or other full-time opportunities after graduation based on their performance during the internship.
For the IFC Western Africa Internship, applicants must be actively enrolled in a Master’s degree program, with a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience. Duties include conducting market and industry research, financial statement analysis, building financial models, and contributing to team efforts as required. Candidates are expected to have a Master’s degree, preferably in MBA or Finance, and 2-3 years of prior work experience. Proficiency in English and French is required, particularly in reading business reports.

The application deadline for this opportunity is on February 25, 2024. To apply, interested and qualified candidates can visit the International Finance Corporation (IFC) at worldbankgroup.csod.com. The 2024 Global Internship Program application period will run from February 6th to February 25th, with the program receiving over 5,000 applications annually for around 70 positions across various locations worldwide.
