The Faculty of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies (GPS) at the University of Alberta is proud to announce an exciting scholarship opportunity designed to support and fund top-tier newly admitted graduate students. This scholarship aims to ease the financial burden on students who have demonstrated exceptional academic prowess and have been highly ranked by their respective Departments during the admission process.
Scholarship Highlights:
Generous Financial Support: Successful applicants at the Master’s level will be awarded a stipend of $17,500, while Doctoral candidates will receive $21,000. To facilitate the disbursement of this award, recipients are required to have a Canadian bank account and address. Additionally, domestic students will benefit from an extra $7,100, and international students will receive an additional $10,000 to assist with tuition and fees, directly applied to their accounts.
Eligibility and Requirements:
To be considered for the University of Alberta Graduate Entrance Scholarship, candidates must be newly admitted to a Master’s or Doctoral program for the terms of January 2024, May 2024, July 2024, or September 2024. This opportunity is open to both domestic and international students, across course-based and thesis-based programs. A minimum Admission GPA of 3.7 is mandatory, alongside full-time registration throughout the award tenure from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025.
