The Federal Ministry of Education in Nigeria is thrilled to announce the opening of applications for the 2024/2025 Federal Government Scholarships Awards. This is a great opportunity for interested and eligible Nigerians to apply for the Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Awards. The scholarship is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, with studies tenable in places like Russia, Morocco, Hungary, Egypt, Algeria, China, Serbia, and Romania.
The BEA scholarship is a full funding program with several awards available. Applicants must meet certain criteria to be considered for this scholarship. For undergraduate students, they must have a minimum of seven distinctions (As & Bs) in the Senior Secondary School Certificates, WASSCE/WAEC (May/June) only in the subjects relevant to their fields of study, including English Language and Mathematics. Certificates should not be more than two years old (2022 & 2023) for non-African countries, while for African countries, the age of the certificate is one year (2023) only. The age limit for undergraduate students is from 17 to 20 years.
For postgraduate students, they must hold a First Degree with 1st Class or at least 2nd Class Upper Division. All applicants must have completed the NYSC program, and the age limit is 35 years for Masters and 40 years for PhD. Since the BEA countries are non-English speaking, applicants should be prepared to undertake a mandatory one-year foreign language course of the country of choice, which will be the standard medium of instruction.
All applicants for the Hungarian Scholarship can apply for up to two fields of study in order of preference and must visit the website: www.stipendiumhungaricum.hu, which was opened middle of November 2023 to closed on 16th January 2024. Complete the application form online. All applicants for the Russian Postgraduate Scholarship must have acquired their 1st Degree in Russia. All applicants for Russia should visit the website http://education-in-russia.com, which is open.
The application deadline for the Bilateral Education Agreement Scholarship 2024 is 5th January 2024. Interested applicants can visit the Federal Ministry of Education’s website and click on the Federal Scholarship Board ICON on the home page to read the guidelines and then complete the application form online.
