Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme - UK Universities 2024-2025

Are you a citizen of a least-developed or lower-middle-income Commonwealth country interested in pursuing a Master’s degree in the UK? Look no further than the Commonwealth Shared Scholarships program, which supports full-time Master’s study on selected courses, jointly supported by UK universities. The scholarships are offered under six themes, including Access, Inclusion, and Opportunity; Promoting Global Prosperity; Science and Technology for Development; Strengthening Global Peace, Security, and Governance; Strengthening Health Systems and Capacity; and Strengthening Resilience and Response to Crises.

The program covers approved tuition and examination fees, approved airfare from your home country to the UK and return at the end of your award, a stipend of £1,347 per month (or £1,652 per month for those studying at universities in the London metropolitan area), warm clothing allowance, thesis grant, study travel grant, and excess baggage allowance, among other benefits.

To be eligible, you must be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, be a British Protected Person, be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country, and be available to start your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September 2024. You must also hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard, or a lower second class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree) by September 2023.

To apply, you should first secure admission to an eligible Master’s course at a UK university participating in the Shared Scholarship scheme. You must also make your application using the CSC’s online application system, in addition to any other application required by your chosen university. All applications must be submitted by 16.00 (GMT) on 14 December 2023 at the latest. Each university has its closing date for admissions, so be sure to check with your chosen university for their specific advice on when to apply, admission requirements, and rules for applying.

If you’re looking for an opportunity to further your education and make a positive impact in your home country, don’t miss out on this chance to apply for the Commonwealth Shared Scholarships program. Visit the official website for detailed information on how to apply for this scholarship.
