Ashoka Climate Changemakers Challenge: Benefits and Opportunities
Participants in the Ashoka Climate Changemakers Challenge will enjoy numerous benefits, including:
- Feedback and Networking: Receive constructive feedback from Ashoka & Anglo American Foundation networks, and connect with peers on the Challenge’s online platform.
- Learning and Resources: Gain access to valuable information sessions and online resources focused on change-making and social entrepreneurship.
- Exposure and Recognition: Early applicants stand a chance to win $100 and receive feedback to refine their submissions. Semi-finalists and finalists will be featured on Ashoka’s communication channels and social media platforms.
- Grand Prizes: Each of the 10 winners will be awarded $1000, an invitation to a celebratory event in Johannesburg, South Africa, and opportunities for mentoring from seasoned social entrepreneurs.
Requirements and Selection Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Age and Language: Be between 16-25 years old and submit entries in English.
- Residence: Impact one or more of the following countries: Zimbabwe, South Africa, Namibia, or Botswana.
- Initiative: Be the founder or co-founder of an idea-stage or existing initiative focused on climate change mitigation, adaptation, or climate literacy.
- Innovative Solutions: Present creative and original solutions that involve community participation and have the potential for long-term impact.
