The Arrell Food Institute has established a prestigious scholarship for global leaders who are making significant strides in contributing to food security for the planet. This scholarship aims to motivate and encourage new leaders to take bold steps towards change, and to acknowledge the importance of scientific excellence and community engagement in overcoming the challenges that the world faces in feeding a rapidly growing population.
Since 2018, the Arrell Global Food Innovation Awards have recognized the unique approaches and achievements of individuals and organizations around the world. These awards are presented annually and are worth $100,000 each. The two categories for these awards are research innovation and community engagement innovation.
The benefits of the Arrell Global Food Innovation Awards are twofold: first, the recognition of outstanding contributions to food production, distribution, and sales, as well as human nutrition and consumption. Second, the awards provide financial support to individuals and organizations that have demonstrated exceptional leadership in these areas.
To be eligible for this award, the individual or group being nominated must have made significant and well-documented contributions to scientific understanding related to food production, distribution, and sales, or human nutrition and consumption. Alternatively, they must have made a significant contribution at the community level in improving access to, or the distribution of food. The nomination package must demonstrate how the individual or group being nominated played a critical leadership role in achieving the above-noted contributions. Nominees must be able to attend the award ceremony and ancillary events.
The deadline for applications is March 5, 2024. If you meet the requirements for this award, please submit your nomination package and demonstrate how you have made a positive impact towards ensuring food security for the planet.
