Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is offering a unique opportunity for talented prospective non-EU/EEA students to pursue a Master’s degree through the VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP). The scholarship covers tuition fees for English-taught Master’s Degree Programmes offered at the University. Please note that the VUFP scholarship does not provide any additional allowance towards study or living costs. The scholarship can be granted for a one or two-year Master’s programme. If you have been granted the VUFP scholarship for a two-year programme, it will only be extended for the second year if 100% of the credits of the first year have been achieved.
When you apply for the VUFP scholarship, you also apply for the NL Scholarship – a contribution towards the costs of living costs of €5,000 or €10,000 for one year. Please note that the NL Scholarship is awarded only for the first year of your study programme. To be eligible for the VUFP scholarship, you must hold a non-EU/EEA passport and not be eligible for lower tuition fees. Additionally, the degree with which you are seeking admission must not have been obtained in the Netherlands, and you must not need to complete a preparatory programme before the start of your Master’s.
To apply, you must have applied and conditionally admitted for the Master’s programme before you can apply for the VUFP scholarship. Students must register for a Master’s programme in Studielink by 1 December 2023 (from 1 October 2023). Then, you must submit your VUFP application together with supporting documents in your VU dashboard before 1 February 2024 (from 1 November 2023).
