The University of Oulu in Finland offers scholarships to academically talented international students who are not citizens of an EU/EEA member state and are studying for a Master’s degree in the university’s two-year international Master’s programmes. The scholarship is valid for one academic year and covers the full international tuition fee. However, to retain the scholarship in the following year of study, a student is required to have completed 55 ECTS by the end of the previous academic year. Failure to meet this requirement can result in the student being liable to pay the full international tuition fee to complete their Master’s degree programme unless they have been granted approved leave from studies due to serious illness.
To be eligible for the University of Oulu IM Scholarship 2024/2025, candidates must be non-EU/EEA citizens who do not have a permanent residence permit in Finland and are eligible to apply for a Master’s degree programme at the University of Oulu for the academic year 2024/2025. The candidate must have obtained their first academic degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) from a recognised institution of higher education and demonstrate a high level of proficiency in the English language.
Applicants who are in their last term/semester of studies during the application period can apply for the scholarship. Those who receive a conditional offer of study placement for a Master’s programme will receive a conditional scholarship offer. The tuition fee is an academic fee and does not cover living costs such as accommodation, meals, and transportation, which all students are required to finance by themselves.
