The Talent Grant, financed by the Faculty of Religion, Culture, and Society at the University of Groningen, is aimed at international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who are interested in pursuing a Master’s degree in Theology and Religious Studies. The EEA comprises the EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway. The grant, worth €5,000, is awarded for a one-year program in one of the following tracks: MA Religion and Pluralism: Ancient & Modern, MA Religion, Conflict and Globalization, and MA Heritage and Religion.
To be eligible for the Talent Grant, students must hold a non-EU/EEA passport and have obtained conditional admission to one of the MA tracks in Theology and Religious Studies. Additionally, candidates must have excellent academic performance and grades during their bachelor/undergraduate studies, not have already obtained a master’s degree from an educational institution in the Netherlands, have excellent English language proficiency, and be available for the entire program. Students who receive the Talent Grant must confirm in writing their agreement with the grant when awarded.
The selection process is based on academic merit and motivational statements. A selection committee will review the applications, and eligibility decisions will be made in March (for the September intake). The deadline for applications is March 1, 2024. To apply, interested and qualified students must fill in an application form and send it, along with other required documents, to [email protected]. Please note that application forms without a letter of admission to one of the above-mentioned programs will not be processed. For more information, visit the University of Groningen website.
