The UNICORE 2024 project presents an incredible opportunity for refugee students to pursue a master’s degree program at an Italian university. This initiative, known as University Corridors for Refugees UNICORE 6.0, is a collaborative effort between Italian universities, UNHCR, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Caritas Italiana, Diaconia Valdese, Centro Astalli, and other partners. Its primary objective is to enhance educational prospects for refugees currently residing in Kenya, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe by enabling them to further their higher education in Italy.
Selected students will commence their degree courses in September 2024, benefiting from waived tuition fees at participating universities, financial assistance for travel expenses and visas, as well as a study grant to support their time in Italy. To be eligible, candidates must meet specific criteria including holding a recognized refugee status in collaboration with UNHCR in the aforementioned countries, possessing a valid qualification for admission to the chosen Second Cycle Degree Programme, maintaining a GPA of at least 3.0, and demonstrating proficiency in the English language. Application documents required include a refugee ID card, academic certificates, transcripts, a CV, a motivation letter, and any additional documents specified by the selected programs. The application deadline for this remarkable opportunity is April 15, 2024. If you meet the requirements and are interested in applying, make sure to submit your application on time and follow the outlined guidelines for a chance to further your education in Italy through the UNICORE 2024 project.
