The world’s water and sanitation crisis is a persistent problem that requires substantial attention and resources. To tackle this issue, The Rotary Foundation (TRF) and the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education have formed a strategic partnership aimed at increasing the number of professionals who can devise, plan, and implement solutions in developing and emerging countries. Through this collaboration, scholarships are awarded annually to graduate students at IHE Delft’s campus in the Netherlands.
The scholarships are designed to create long-term productive relationships between Rotarians and highly skilled water and sanitation professionals in their communities. Since the partnership’s inception in 2012, over 165 scholarships have been awarded. Recipients of this scholarship receive support from sponsor Rotarians in their home country and have the opportunity to interact with Rotarians in the Netherlands.
To apply for this scholarship, candidates must be academically admitted to the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education’s MSc Programme in Water and Sustainable Development in one of the following thematic tracks: Water and Health, Water, Food and Energy, Water Resources and Ecosystems Health, or Water Hazards, Risks and Climate. The application process involves early contact with a nearby Rotary club to request nomination for the Rotary scholarship. The application form must be completed by the candidate and the Rotary Club, and then submitted to the Rotary/IHE Delft selection committee in The Netherlands by April 15, 2024, at the latest. Final approval of the scholarship is pending formal endorsement by The Rotary Foundation on July 1, 2024.
This Rotary Foundation Postgraduate Scholarship is an excellent opportunity for highly skilled professionals to get involved in tackling the world’s water and sanitation crisis. For more information, visit the IHE Delft website.
