National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has partnered with Coursera to provide Nigerian citizens with learning scholarships that enable them to acquire professional certifications from leading multinational tech companies such as Meta, Google, and IBM, as well as top-ranked US universities. The scholarship provides an opportunity for applicants to select one certification program from Category A and Category B.
Category A (IT Career Pathway) offers a total of 20 professional certification programs to help individuals kickstart a successful IT career. Each program comprises a series of related courses that focus on providing in-depth knowledge and hands-on skills required for employment. Upon completing each course within the program, applicants will earn a certificate of completion. However, the professional certification will only be earned after completing all the required courses in the program.
Category B (Complementary Skills Pathway) offers four certification programs to complement IT career skills and improve the use of digital productivity tools, entrepreneurship, or freelancing skills.
Each scholar will have access to the Coursera license for six (6) months and will earn a certificate of completion. The scholarship is open to Nigerian citizens, and there is no specified application deadline. Interested and qualified individuals can apply through the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) website. Successful applicants will receive a Coursera license through their provided email in the form of a joining link. They will then be able to join the program and enrol in a course by clicking on that link.
It is important to note that scholars can only be enrolled in one certification at a time, with any of the 3MTT 12 core skills; Software Development, UI/UX Design, Data Analysis & Visualization, Quality Assurance, Product Management, Animation, AI/Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Game Development, Cloud Computing, Dev Ops, and Data Science. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to further your education and advance your career in the tech industry.
