Are you a Nigerian youth passionate about creating change and leading your community toward a brighter future? If so, you might be wondering whether you possess the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in such roles. Do you have the right role models to guide you? Are you fully aware of what it takes to lead yourself first before leading others?
To address these concerns, LEAP Africa has established the Youth Leadership Development Programme (YLDP) specifically for undergraduates in tertiary institutions. This program is designed to provide you with the skills, knowledge, and resources you need to actively contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals, nation-building, and community development. It aims to empower you to speak up on social issues and work collaboratively to lead change.
The YLDP offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes self-paced courses focused on three key pillars: leadership, active citizenship, and community/sustainable development. Participants will also benefit from group mentorship sessions with experienced social innovators and change-makers, inter-school debates on national issues, funded community change projects, and virtual learning sessions. These activities are designed to develop your mindset and equip you to be the change agent your country needs.
Focus Areas of the YLDP:
- Technology, Innovation & Entrepreneurship
- Human Capital Development
- Sustainable Development and Infrastructure
- Facilitating Good Governance
- Resolving Fundamental National Questions
