This initiative is a continuation of Tampa Bay Wave’s impressive track record, with over 30 accelerators launched in the past decade, all aimed at nurturing tech innovation. The HealthTech|X Accelerator is designed specifically for burgeoning health technology startups on the cusp of significant growth, offering a unique opportunity to accelerate their journey.
This 90-day accelerator is exclusively open to pre-Series A HealthTech startups, with a focus on a broad spectrum of sectors including Digital Health, Healthcare Services, Health Sustainability and Wellness, Medical Devices and Equipment, Software, Femtech, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, PharmacyTech, Wearables, and the Quantified Self. The program represents a collaborative effort by Tampa Bay Wave, a leader in nonprofit startup accelerators, alongside the University of South Florida Research & Innovation, The Florida High Tech Corridor, U.S. Economic Development Corporation, among others, with support from key industry players like Accenture, various healthcare systems, venture capital funds, and major financial institutions.
The HealthTech|X Accelerator offers a comprehensive suite of benefits to its participants, including expert guidance and mentorship extending beyond the program, constant access to a vibrant community and connections through an online portal, introductions to a growing network of investors, and significant financial support aimed at easing the journey to Tampa. To qualify, startups must have proprietary technology, a dedicated management team, the ability to travel to Tampa for key program dates, market validation, and a viable business plan. The application deadline is May 24, 2024, with the program kicking off on July 22, 2024.
