Are you a recent graduate with a passion for international relations and a curiosity about diplomatic missions? Do you wish to delve into how the European Union (EU) Delegation champions EU interests and values in Kenya? We have an exciting opportunity for you!

We are offering traineeships of up to six months at the EU Delegation to Kenya, beginning in July 2024 and/or October 2024. These positions are within two key sections of the delegation:

  1. Traineeship in the Political, Press, and Information Section (PPI): Here, you’ll immerse yourself in the workings of the Political, Press, and Information Section. Your main tasks will include contributing to political reporting and analysis under the guidance of the political adviser, updating the Delegation’s digital platforms, engaging with Kenyan media, designing information material, and supporting in organizing and documenting meetings.
  2. Traineeship in the Head of Delegation (HoD) and Trade Sections: This role involves assisting the Head of Delegation and Deputy Head in coordinating delegation activities, analyzing Kenya’s foreign policy, monitoring regional peace and security developments, participating in meetings, and supporting EU Economic Diplomacy initiatives.

EU Undergraduate Scholarship Program Highlights:

  • Benefits: Trainees will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. Note that travel, visa, insurance, and accommodation costs are the responsibility of the trainee.
  • Requirements: Applicants must hold a university degree in relevant fields such as international relations or political sciences, possess analytical and organizational skills, and have a command of English. Knowledge of EU foreign policy, particularly regarding Africa, is advantageous.
  • Selection Process: Only eligible candidates will be considered, with shortlisted applicants invited for an interview. Notifications will be sent via email.
