Are you a young African aged between 18-26 and passionate about climate change? The EcoSciGen Climate Research Workshop offers a unique opportunity to gain knowledge and skills to become an independent researcher in the climate space. The 6-month program will provide participants with intellectual development, capacity building, knowledge sharing and training sessions.
The program aims to reshape the perspectives of young Africans regarding climate change by providing them with the tools to contribute to positive change in the climate landscape. It will equip participants with scientific research training, climate change knowledge training, and a chance to collaborate on research related to climate change to be published in peer-reviewed journals.
To qualify for the program, young scholars must demonstrate a commitment to addressing climate change in their community, be fluent in spoken and written English, be a STEM field graduate or undergraduate, and have access to the internet. Participants must commit to completing the workshop by August 30 and mentoring others after the workshop.
The selection process will begin on January 4th, 2024, with the workshop starting on March 1st, 2024. The application deadline is January 30th, 2024, and interested and qualified individuals can apply on the EcoSciGen website. The application must be filled out correctly and in English, and include general information, background and experience, and essay questions.
