The develoPPP Ventures call for applications is now open from May 15 to June 30, offering a unique opportunity to secure funding for your start-up. Supported by a team of local experts, this initiative aims to foster innovative business models that contribute to sustainable development in targeted countries. The develoPPP Ventures program selects promising start-ups through an open call for applications held several times a year. Each application window lasts six weeks at the end of a quarter, with the next deadline on June 30, 2024. Announcements for new calls are made on the official website, inviting all eligible start-ups to apply. Depending on your target country, funding contracts are managed by either DEG Impulse gGmbH or Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
Eligible start-ups must be registered in the target country or plan to register before the investment. The company should be privately owned, profit-oriented, and have at least one annual financial statement. A viable business and financial plan is essential, along with proof of concept through generated revenues. The start-up should not have received more than EUR 2 million in funding to date. The selection criteria focus on innovation, scalability, financial sustainability, and adequate management capacity. Additionally, the business should have a significant developmental impact, contributing to the SDGs by improving local income, saving natural resources, enhancing access to services, and creating decent jobs.

- Submit your application via the dedicated platform at develoPPP application portal.
- Women-led start-ups and those promoting gender equality are particularly encouraged to apply.
- Shortlisted companies will pitch to the DEG Impulse/GIZ selection committee.
- Successful pitches will undergo a due diligence process to evaluate detailed business and financial plans.
