Boston University (BU) 2024 Trustee Scholars Program For Undergraduate Scholarship

Unlock Your Future with the BU Trustee Scholars Program

Every year, Boston University (BU) invites approximately 20 exemplary students to join the prestigious Trustee Scholars Program. This elite group often includes individuals who have achieved perfect 4.0 grade point averages and ranked at the top of their high school classes. However, the Trustee Scholars Program seeks more than just academic excellence; it values students who are intellectually and creatively adventurous, showcasing perspectives, experiences, or accomplishments that distinguish them from their peers. Trustee Scholars are not only exceptional students but also extraordinarily well-rounded individuals.

At BU, Trustee Scholars become integral members of a distinctive campus community, benefiting from a wealth of intellectual, cultural, and social opportunities. The program covers full undergraduate tuition and mandatory student fees, renewable for four years provided students meet certain criteria. This comprehensive scholarship empowers students to focus on their academic and personal growth without the financial burden of tuition fees.

To apply for this esteemed scholarship, prospective students must submit the Common Application and all required materials for admission to an undergraduate degree program at BU by December 1, 2024. Additionally, applicants must respond to one of two essay prompts, demonstrating their ability to reflect thoughtfully on their experiences and insights. The essay options are as follows:

  1. Nobel laureate and BU professor Elie Wiesel once said: “There is divine beauty in learning… To learn means to accept the postulate that life did not begin at my birth. Others have been here before me, and I walk in their footsteps. The books I have read were composed by generations of fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, teachers and disciples. I am the sum total of their experiences, their quests.” Reflect on a book, film, podcast, or life experience that has connected you to your personal history or identity, and explain the most important lesson you derived from it.
  2. Describe an occasion when you felt out of your comfort zone or marginalized. How did you respond to that situation, and how has it influenced your actions moving forward?

Qualified and interested students can apply through the Common Application at www.commonapp.org. For more details, please visit the BU website or contact us at 617-353-2320. Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to join a community of scholars who embody excellence and innovation at Boston University.
